Cafe Routier

Came here on a recommendation from staff at Westbrook Marina and so glad we listened! It was a fantastic meal and the staff was knowledgeable and very friendly. I had my almost 3 year old son with us, and while there is no kids menu the waitress brought over the bar menu which is "more kid friendly". Our table ordered multiple apps, which were all devoured. I thoroughly enjoyed the hangar steak and my husband loved the scallops. All the plates had great presentation. I only wish we had saved room for dessert!

What a charming little restaurant! We stopped here the other night on our drive through town. Food was delicious but I think a lot of our experience had to do with the delightful waitress. Her name was Shaylene, not sure how to spell it but she was knowledgeable, friendly and sincere. We will definitely be back

What a great restaurant. Food is top shelf and fresh made daily. A great variety of cold beer on tap means you need to stop by weekly. The wait staff and bartenders are first rate. The chef is a genius who takes simple ingredients and create something elegant and tasty.The quarterly menus mean trying new offerings all the time. If there is a better eating establishment in coastal Connecticut I have yet to find it.Oh, prices are downright reasonable the quality and quantity.If passing through or living anywhere within 50 miles of this eatery, then you must try it; again and again.

The food is awesome! The fries, as an appetizer, are the best fries ever. My favorite dinner meal is the camp style trout. I get it every time. We love going there for dinner.

Such a great meal at the bar and Albert creates fantastic martinis. We had the bouillabaisse which was cooked to perfection, mussels, house made fries with a traditional French aioli and a fabulous Endive and Arugula salad. While the restaurant has been here a very long time, this was our first visit. We’ll be back!

Great food, unique choices. Best flan ever

We visited Cafe Routier on Christmas Eve. All table reservations had been filled for the evening. We stopped by anyway and were able to get a great table in the lounge. The service was excellent and very friendly. The food was outstanding!

Decent food and atmosphere, a bit on the pricey side.

When they have shrimp and grits, the world stops turning and time stands still! Their duck is amazing as well.Pictured here are the Salmon with lentils, scallops and dessert.

All wait staff very knowledgeable and friendly. Presentation of our dinners (my husband had scallops and I the hanger steak) were beautiful. Food done perfectly. Dessert....we highly recommend the Turtle cake. No complaints here. The atmosphere was very nice, too.

Their food is always consistently delicious!

On of my favorite restaurants in Connecticut. The service is excellent and the food always surpasses my expectations. The creative rotational regional and season menus are reasons to keep going back.

Just finished dinner. Mom's meatloaf is fabulous, good portions, not too much just enough. The reviews on there fries were no lies they are the best. Staff is great we ordered to orders of fries but they stopped us one is plenty and it was. This will be a regular stop when we come to the area which is often .Shailene our server is great if possible ask for her section. Holly our bus deserves praise and well , Randy the host was great he noticed a potential conflict and immediately took action and offered to move us to avoid the issue .

Been having dinner there with my daughter same time every year, always the best of everything food, drink and service.

Favorite local restaurant. Excellent service with service team that has been there for a long time. Food never disappoints. Fun cocktails. Excellent small plates bar menu.
